You Can Support Canadian Athletes by Going Skiing, Snowboarding

Written by Chris D’Alessandro

You can support our Canadian Ski and Snowboard Teams by buying a discounted lift pass at your nearest participating resort for CIBC National Ski & Snowboard Day on January 27th.

So here’s the deal.

Our lead partner, CIBC, is a proud “gold level” (we’re not sure what that means, but it sounds fancy) sponsor of Alpine Canada (ACA), which is the National Federation for Alpine, Para Alpine and Ski Cross racing. In addition, ACA has welcomed Canada Snowboard and Freestyle Canada to join us in celebrating snow sports in Canada for CIBC National Ski & Snowboard Day.

On January 27th, Alpine Canada, Freestyle Canada and Canada Snowboard are hosting the CIBC National Ski & Snowboard Day (or NSSD for short) as a fundraiser in support of their National Team Athletes.

What’s CIBC National Ski & Snowboard Day all about?

CIBC National Ski & Snowboard Day is a nation-wide initiative that encourages Canadians of all ages to try the sport at a significantly reduced lift ticket rate at participating resorts across the country.   Proceeds from ticket sales go to support our Canadian Ski & Snowboard Athletes.

This is a special year for Canadian snow sport athletes as they are all competing to represent Canada at the 2018 Winter Games in February.

Skiing and snowboarding can be an expensive sport to experience so NSSD is a wonderful way for many (who might not otherwise be able to afford it) to enjoy the sport while supporting our Canadian athletes.

The funds you help raise will benefit the athletes through world-class training, nutrition, equipment, sport science, travel, and more!

So just to recap:

  1. You get discounted day of skiing or snowboarding fun.
  2. You help Canadian athletes win more gold medals.
  3. #NSSD2018
