It’s only been a few weeks, but we’re already overwhelmed with the amount of incredible Thank You Mom & Dad letters we’ve gotten to read.

If you haven’t heard, Thank You Mom & Dad is on and going strong. Brought back by popular demand, it’s the contest where you write a thank you letter to someone important in your life for the chance to win $20,000.

From taking you to sports games to going through hardships together to simply being there for you, everyone’s got a different reason to thank their family and we want to hear about it.

Really, you’re all winners just by letting the people around you know that you appreciate them. (But our legal team wants me to clarify that unfortunately, we can’t actually afford to give away $20,000 to every entrant, even if that would be totally amazing.)

We don’t believe in giving people just one chance to win our contests, we give you the option of earning hundreds of potential entries. If you want to be the winner, the best way to increase your chances is to get as many entries as possible. Here are some insider tips on the easiest and most effective ways to gain those extra entries into this contest.

Tips and tricks to get the most entries possible (and make your letter even better)

Keep it simple. This isn’t an essay where you need to keep repeating yourself to meet a word count. Just ask yourself, “why am I thanking this person?” and write it out.

Add a photo. Seeing is believing and we want to see whoever you’re writing about. Whether it’s a formal event, a throwback pic, or just you guys hanging out, a great photo will make your letter even better.

Share your story. A letter’s not much good if the other person never gets to read it. We made it easy to share your letter with buttons right on your story. Either share it with everyone via social media or email it directly to somebody special. Either way, we know that the people you wrote it for would love to see it.

Read the featured letter of the day. Every day on your feed we’ll have a new featured letter that we love. For every one you read, you’ll earn an extra entry—easy, right?
