Moms are great. The best.
They feed us, care for us, and heal us when we’re sick. They foster our growth and support us in all the dumb, crazy things we get ourselves into. For that reason, Mother’s Day is a time to really sit down and think about what makes your mother special and how you could possibly repay her for all she does as a caregiver, friend, and generally cool human.
Give Mom a Call
One thing we don’t always do is call mom and say thanks. It’s a simple act. But we’re busy. We’re students. However, it means the world to mom when you call her. So that’s exactly what we asked students to do. To stop what they were doing, and call. And say thanks. Or I love you.
Here’s what happened:
Many students seemed elated at hearing their mothers’ voices, while others got pretty emotional. If you’re away from mom as you read this, pick up the phone and call her. Right now out of the blue. Tell her how much you love her.
If you can’t call her just yet, worry not—we’ve got something even better that you can do for mom. If you haven’t already, run along and enter Thank You Mom & Dad. You can write about just mom, just dad, or both your parents for a chance to win $20,000 as a way to say thanks. You can even include cute family pictures with your submission and shoot a quick dedication video to really make your story stand out. If not for the sake of winning $20,000, do it out of sheer love for mom—after all, love is what Mother’s Day is all about.
Here’s wishing every mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beyond every form of happiness this Mother’s Day!
