On a trip to Montreal this past summer, we stayed in a pretty posh hotel downtown. For free.

My then-fiancé booked our hotel through AIR MILES reward miles. Up until that point I had no idea you could get anything other than free flights with AIR MILES.

With our new AIR MILES challenge, the winner can do a helluva lot with 5,000 AIR MILES reward miles. Not to forget the 50 bonus reward miles you get just for signing up. I did some digging around, and to put it into perspective, this is what you can do with those 5,000 reward miles.

5,000 miles gets you just over $500 of free purchases at a number of locations (depending on what region you are in!) In Ontario, for instance, you can redeem instantly in-store towards your purchases at Metro, Rexall, Shell and online at places like Starbucks, iTunes, Cineplex, Harvey’s and others. All you have to do is pre-determine the balance you want to go to AIR MILES Cash when you’re completing your application.

This 10″ tablet comes with 16GB and wi-fi built-in. It’s also super slim and, get this, waterproof. Yeah, waterproof tablet. Awesome.
